WEATHER THREATENS SARAH FITZ-GERALD'S RECORD BID Australian squash star Sarah Fitz-Gerald's bid to win a record fifth World Open title this week in Qatar may be threatened by the English weather. The world No1 and four-times World Champion from Melbourne was due to fly out of London yesterday (Sunday) to arrive in Doha in time to play her first round match in the Qatar Women's World Open in Doha tonight. After checking on her luggage, the direct flight was cancelled due to the stormy conditions. The next alternative direct flight will arrive in Doha at 9.30pm tonight - 45 minutes before she is due on court to face Australian qualifier Heidi Mather, the first opponent she faces en-route to the final where she is seeded to become the first person in history to win a fifth world title. In yesterday's chaos at Heathrow, Fitz-Gerald was unable to retrieve her baggage from the stricken flight - and may land later today with only her rackets, shoes and the clothes she is wearing!
