Fitz-Gerald Claims Historic 58th WISPA Tour Title World No1 and four-times world champion Sarah Fitz-Gerald became the most successful Australian woman squash player of all-time when she crushed compatriot Laura Keating 9-0 9-2 9-0 in the final of the Australian Women's Open Championship in Adelaide to claim her 58th WISPA World Tour title, one more than fellow Australian and former rival Michelle Martin. The decisive victory, which marks her third Australian Open title, takes Fitz-Gerald into second place in the all-time WISPA title list - behind New Zealand's now retired Susan Devoy who secured 91 WISPA titles between 1984 and 1992. Fitz-Gerald's remarkable run since last August now features 12 successive WISPA World Tour titles and 51 consecutive matches without defeat. The formidable 33-year-old will next be in action in England, where she will be strong favourite to win the one major title that has so far eluded her - the Commonwealth Games gold medal in Manchester at the end of July.
