Owens Stays On Top New Zealand's Carol Owens, who reclaimed her world No1 ranking last month, holds onto the top position in the new August Women's World Squash Rankings, announced today (31 July) by the Women's International Squash Players' Association (WISPA). In a completely unchanged top twenty list, USA's Natalie Pohrer stays at 2, Australia's Rachael Grinham at No3, England's Linda Charman at 4 and seven-times Dutch champion Vanessa Atkinson maintains her career-high world No5 position. Outside the top twenty, Egypt's Engy Kheirallah moves up five places to 25 after winning the Egyptian Circuit Event No1 in Cairo. Australia's Dianne Desira becomes the only player in the top fifty to register a career-high placing - rising to a best-ever No36 after reaching the quarter-finals of this month's Australian Open in Adelaide. 1 [1] Carol Owens NZL 2 [2] Natalie Pohrer USA 3 [3] Rachael Grinham AUS 4 [4] Linda Charman ENG 5 [5] Vanessa Atkinson NED 6 [6] Tania Bailey ENG 7 [7] Rebecca Macree ENG 8 [8] Natalie Grinham AUS 9 [9] Cassie Jackman ENG 10 [10] Jenny Tranfield ENG 11 [11] Fiona Geaves ENG 12 [12] Omneya Abdel Kawy EGY 13 [13] Stephanie Brind ENG 14 [14] Vicky Botwright ENG 15 [15] Isabelle Stoehr FRA 16 [16] Shelley Kitchen NZL 17 [17] Pamela Nimmo SCO 18 [18] Madeline Perry IRL 19 [19] Rebecca Chiu HKG 20 [20] Sharon Wee MAS
